Keyboardist/Composer Tom Alexander’s Flying Against the Time Zones is a musical trip around the globe – literally. Depart from America’s west coast and circle the world stopping off to catch a glimpse of some far off melody or rhythm from Africa, Asia, Europe or the Americas then settle in for some awe-inspiring fusion jazz jams.
Tom plays in a variety of contexts and settings from solo piano ballads and haunting duos to full-on burning fusion ensemble playing and orchestral sojourns. Featuring a core group of drummer Tommy G. Lee, guitarist Audric Jankauskas, bassist Leo Brooks, and saxophonist Jamie Roth as well as a host of guest musicians, Flying Against the Time Zones pays homage to musical heroes Chick Corea, Joe Zawinul, Pat Metheny, and Herbie Hancock.
